Dealing with Feelings

Choose the closest feelings to your own from the buttons on the left.

(It's usual to be feeling several ways at any time.)

Whatever way you are feeling, it's important to recognise the validity of those feelings. There is no 'right' or 'wrong' way to feel. Even if you feel bad, at least be glad that you are feeling something!

Once you realise that any negative feelings may be counter-productive, then it's appropriate to think about changing your mind.

It may be that you feel your life is being affected by other people. Yet it is you who is responsible for your feelings, not others. If you doubt that, just imagine saying to someone, "I want you to feel happy ~ or sad ~ or confused." Unless they're feeling that way to begin with, the best they'll be able to do is attempt to empathise with the way you are feeling!

So while it may seem that there is little you can do about a particular situation involving others, typically at work or in a relationship, you can take responsibility for the way you feel about it.

Ultimately it's entirely up to you what sort of day you have. We invite you to "Have a nice day!"
